I’m back to the old one, with a few tweaks of course. Simple is best.
From The Road
I’m on my way up to Illinois for a wedding this weekend. Right now I’m posting from somewhere on Interstate 57 near the Missouri/Illinois border. GPRS over Bluetooth rocks. The connection is about as good as a 56k modem, plenty enough to get the latest news on the hurricane.
Tape It Off The Internet
Tape It Off The Internet is like an Odeo for TV. They don’t have anything out yet, but its a great idea and the company behind it certainly has the resources and expertise to pull it off. I hope someone who does it right (like Odeo!) will expand into the other markets and become a great media portal. Or even better, the APIs for these different sites become so well done that users can synthesize their own media portals! Hrmmm… good idea.
Google Reader
Google has released a new toy called Google Reader. Like almost every Google product its still in Beta, but its usable. The site is getting hammered pretty hard right now, but it should speed up as the issues become apparent. The interface is all Ajaxy and quite clean. Features are lacking, but they’re sure to come, its only been out for about an hour!
"feels like it's submerged in gummy bear protoplasm"
I hate it when my mouse wheel is sticky and it “feels like it’s submerged in gummy bear protoplasm.”
