Deer Fight

Posted by Andrew

I said I’d say more about the incident with the deer… The night I drove into Jackson it was snowing pretty hard, and like most winter nights – it was DARK. I was driving at a safe speed for a well trafficked highway (~ 40 mph in 4wd), but didn’t take into consideration wildlife. The road has a “gutter” if you can call it that, about 5 deer (I know this after the fact) were standing there waiting for some nice bright lights to cross in. Land Cruiser 1, Deer 0.

Get r done!

So Many Toys, So Little Money

I’ve spent the last few days doing research on new gear for this winter. I’ve come to a few conclusions. 1. – Arc’Teryx rocks. They’re the “new” Patagonia. 2. – Lib Tech’s Magne-Traction is pretty sweet. 3. – I want a RomeDesign. Over and out.

I'm a Pro Snowboarder

Posted by Andrew

I completed all my instructor training today. I’m officially a professional snowboard instructor. I’m going to be teaching kids 7-14. I’m pretty psyched to get the kids at this age. “Explorers” are capable of spending a whole day in the snow, but they don’t yet have egos or the other issues that come with most teenagers. Should be a fun winter! Small park opens on Saturday, fun fun.

I got a job! but still no Internet :(

Well the updates are not supposed to be this sparse. The huge influx of seasonal residents has backed up the internet guys. My install date is the 20th, two weeks after I ordered. Ouch. Once I DO get intarweb, I’ll try to write a little bit every day.

In other news: I got a job! I’m an official Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) Snowboard Instructor. Training starts Monday, and then they let me loose with the kiddies…. Good times.

I am in Jackson, WY. The drive was pretty interesting… ran out of gas, hit a deer… more to come.
